The Hall Tree in Centerville carries a wide variety of women’s clothing. Owner Emilly Hanes purchased the store two years ago after working at the store part-time for about five years. “I’ve always liked clothing,” say Emily. “When Karen Tisue (former owner) asked if I wanted to buy the store, I decided to take her up on it.”
Since purchasing the store, Emily has directed her inventory towards a little younger shopper. She describes the clothing she carries as trendy, fashionable and unique. She sells dress clothes and casual wear. Jeans are her biggest seller.
“We get a lot of people from out of town who are surprised to find a store like this in a smaller town like Centerville,” she notes. “To carry this kind of inventory we have a good mix of local and out-of-town shoppers.”
Emily says she loves the freedom of owning her own business but admits that there are challenges that come with that as well. “It’s exactly what I want to be doing, so it’s all worth it.”
The Hall Tree has four part-time employees. Store hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
